CNN's Carol Costello surprisingly acted as a supporter of the Keystone XL pipeline on Friday's CNN Newsroom , as she interviewed left-wing Senator Bernie Sanders. The Vermont politician decried the project, since climate change is " already causing devastating problems in our country ," and that it would "transport 800,000 barrels a day of some of the dirtiest oil on Earth ." However, Costello, who is on the record of bluntly asserting that " there is no debate " on climate change, badgered Senator Sanders over his position: "The State Department did a study on the Keystone pipeline, and it..... continue reading
Early Friday morning, ABCNews.com published an exclusive article that unearthed a secret email listserv maintained by two of Hillary Clinton’s possible 2016 presidential campaign advisers that, among other things, allowed them to express their desires to “smite Republicans mafia-style” and “punish those voters.” With these emails now public, the question will be: Will any of ABC’s newscasts or Sunday morning political talk show This Week even mention this story? If a secret email listerv were discovered involving political operatives for a or future 2016 GOP Presidential candidates, let alone a Republican elected official, it’s a safe bet the liberal media... continue reading
Appearing on TBS's Conan Thursday night, NBC's Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd downplayed the big Republican wave in the midterm election: "...they didn't win because people said, 'We want to hire the Republicans.' Essentially this was an election of 'Well, alright, we're firing the Democrats'....I think the leadership knows that they have to prove that they can govern, that they're just not the anti-Obama party." That was in response to host Conan O'Brien wondering: "The President has two years left. And he's got this problem....the President does not have the House and Senate. He has two years to go... continue reading
When it comes to political prognosticating, Chuck Todd in 2014 erred repeatedly as he imagined Democratic victories and Republican missteps with conservative legislation. On August 1, the Meet the Press host appeared on MSNBC and speculated, "If November comes and goes and Democrats hold the Senate and break even in the House, I think we’re going to look back at the month of July as the month Republicans lost their shot at the Senate." Talking to Congressman Paul Ryan about GOP governor Sam Brownback on September 15 , Todd lectured, "If he loses re-election, he’s going to essentially have lost... continue reading
The blackout of Jonathan Gruber and his ObamaCare deceptions continued on ABC and NBC , Friday morning. CBS allowed a scant 13 seconds to the highly embarrassing videos of the health care law architect's mockery of the "stupidity of the American voter." This Morning anchor Charlie Rose relegated the latest on Gruber to the "Eye Opener" segment, a 90 second round-up of what's happening in the world. This brief recap included a clip of Megyn Kelly noting the "new installment in the greatest video hits of top ObamaCare adviser Jonathan Gruber." Another snippet featured former White House press secretary Jay... continue reading
On Thursday's Daily Rundown on MSNBC, Jim Miklaszewski misidentified the political ideology of the protesters that attacked three American sailors in Istanbul, Turkey. Miklaszewski reported that "these radicals – these right-wing radicals, who are pro-communist and anti-U.S. – were more intent on propaganda than causing these individual sailors harm." The perpetrators are members of the Turkish Youth Union, which hold left-wing views. [MP3 audio available here ; video below ] This wasn't the only error during the segment. An on-screen graphic headlined the " Soldier Scuffle: U.S. Sailors Attacked ." Obviously, soldiers and sailors are two different professions. The trio... continue reading
NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams was inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame Thursday night and received an introduction from rock star Bruce Springsteen, who proclaimed: "To paraphrase a friend of mine, if Walter Cronkite and Jon Stewart had had a baby, and if due to the ongoing controversy over same-sex marriage they had to abandon that baby on the New Jersey Turnpike, and it grew up to be a news anchor, its name would be Brian Douglas Williams." After playing that clip of the ceremony on Friday's Today , news anchor Natalie Morales gushed: "Very good one... continue reading
As ABC and NBC continued to censor any mention of the disparaging comments made by ObamaCare architect Jonathan Gruber from their Thursday night newscasts, CBS aired second story on Gruber with this one (and the other coming from Thursday’s CBS This Morning ) airing on the CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley . While the report by CBS News national correspondent Wyatt Andrews covered what Gruber said, how Democrats and Republicans have responded, and that he was a paid White House adviser on ObamaCare, Andrews did not attempt to point out the contradiction House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi created Thursday... continue reading
In a softball interview with Environmental Protection Agency administrator Gina McCarthy on Thursday, MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell teed up the Obama administration official to dismiss legitimate Republican criticism of the President's climate deal with China: "I wanted to ask you of course about this major breakthrough with China. And the criticism already from many Republicans.... What are you facing as you approach climate deniers...now that you have, you know, the Republicans in charge?" McCarthy predictably defended the agreement as "a big step forward" that was "the result of the leadership of this administration to recognize the need to take quick... continue reading
At the top of her 12 p.m. ET hour MSNBC show on Wednesday, host Andrea Mitchell cheered President Obama "achieving a landmark climate agreement" with China to restrict carbon emissions: "I know this is going to take place over a long time, but – there are a lot of obstacles ahead, but this still marks a very big change from the stalemate between the U.S. and China..." NBC chief environmental affairs correspondent Anne Thompson could barely contain her excitement: "Absolutely, this is a huge step forward in the transition to a low-carbon economy , Andrea....[it] sends a powerful signal to... continue reading
