Appearing as a guest on Thursday's The O'Reilly Factor on FNC to promote his book, Double Down: Game Change 2012 , Time magazine's Mark Halperin recounted that the media did not "scrutinize" ObamaCare before its passage or during the 2012 presidential election, although he also placed some blame on Republicans for nominating former Governor Mitt Romney who was known for pushing a health care plan in Massachusetts. After substitute host Laura Ingraham complained that concerns about ObamaCare "were routinely dismissed" in the media, Halperin responded: There is no doubt that the press failed to scrutinize this program at the time... continue reading
Charlie Rose and Norah O'Donnell stayed true to form and badgered a Republican/conservative guest on Monday's CBS This Morning – this time, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor over his criticism of the Obama administration's nuclear deal with Iran. Rose questioned the congressman's opposition to the proposal, which he labeled "dangerous." Rose asked, " Why isn't that a good deal to freeze things and delay? " O'Donnell twice touted the deal as "positive," in an attempt to defend the White House's controversial diplomatic efforts: [MP3 audio available here ; video below ] NORAH O'DONNELL: Congressman, for the first time in a... continue reading
After NBC refused to even mention ObamaCare since November 18, Saturday's Today allowed left-wing MSNBC host Chris Matthews to actually blame Republicans for the program's ongoing failures: "I think the acid test here is participation, not efficiency. It comes down to whether young people who are healthy are willing to join up....There's a big scary thing, though, that if you look at all the criticism from the other side, from the Republican side, that's discouraging people from joining up." [ Listen to the audio ] Matthews proclaimed that if the young and healthy "join up in big numbers," then "the... continue reading
ABC's Good Morning America and NBC's Today on Friday did their best to downplay Senate Democrats' Thursday move to curtail the Republican Party's filibuster power. The two newscasts devoted a combined 39 seconds to the controversial vote, which ABC's Dan Harris labeled a " bold move ." GMA apparently thought the potential marriage of serial killer Charles Manson was more important, as it devoted over two minutes of air time to that eyebrow-raising story. [audio of the ABC and NBC coverage available here ; video below ] By contrast, Friday's CBS This Morning spent nearly three minutes on the "... continue reading
After going 72 hours without even mentioning ObamaCare on its air waves, NBC's continued refusal to cover the disastrous policy on Thursday's Nightly News or Friday's Today brought that total up to 96 hours. Amazingly, Friday's Today had the audacity to include two segments about Vice President Joe Biden buying lunch at a Washington D.C. sandwich shop rather provide any ObamaCare updates. Even ABC's Good Morning America , a morning show generally devoid of all substance, managed to find time for at least a few seconds on the topic: "Speaking of President Obama, more trouble this morning for ObamaCare. The... continue reading
A prime time plug Thursday night for the joy of voting for Barack Obama. “I’m really into this. You know, elections and voting, it really means a lot to me. I mean, casting my ballot for Obama in ‘08 was one of the most meaningful things I’ve ever done,” enthused “ Jasmine Trussell,” played by Joy Bryant , on Parenthood , the NBC drama about the multi-generational “Braverman” family in suburban San Francisco. Audio, from the November 21 episode: MP3 clip At the time of her pronouncement, “Trussell” was handing out literature on behalf of sister-in-law “Kristina Braverman,” a candidate... continue reading
The cover for the December 2 issue of Time magazine has been released and it’s a brutal shot at the failed ObamaCare rollout. Underneath a picture of a broken pill with the words “Obama Care” imprinted on it, the headline reads: “Broken Promise, What It Means For This Presidency.” However, back in 2009 Time magazine was singing a different tune when it depicted the President as your friendly family doctor ready to heal a broken healthcare system with the headline: “Paging Dr. Obama.” In the December 2, 2013 cover story entitled: “Obama’s Race for the Cure, The President’s second term... continue reading
Chris Matthews appears to have a Mad Libs -style list of the worst insults he hurls at conservative. On Wednesday, he chose "verbal terror" to smear everyone on the right who disagrees with all of the "great things" Barack Obama wants to do. The Hardball anchor opened his show by hyperbolically warning, "Political armageddon!" According to Matthews, the fight between the President and conservatives is not a conflict of ideas. Rather, "it's a battle between a President who wants to do great things -- extend health care to the tens of millions of working people, many of them poor, ending... continue reading
On Wednesday's The Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell , MSNBC.com Executive Editor Richard Wolffe credited Hillary Clinton with a "monumental effort" in "recovering from" the Bush administration's alleged mistakes as he responded to conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer's assertion that the former Secretary of State had no significant accomplishments she could point to in a presidential run. Wolffe: Can I just pick up on this question because, you know, the gang that brought us the war in Iraq and America's being, you know, this loath superpower in the world, you know, recovering from that was no small diplomatic feat. And, okay,... continue reading
NBC News has completely censored any mention of the unfolding ObamaCare disaster for the last 72 hours. Not one word about the millions of Americans losing their health insurance nor the severe political damage that has been done to President Obama and the Democratic Party. In that same time period, both CBS and ABC reported on major developments regarding the new law, including revelations that much of ObamaCare's infrastructure was still unfinished and that the administration knew of serious problems with the HealthCare.gov website as early as March. The last time ObamaCare was even mentioned on the air waves of... continue reading
