One week before the Supreme Court hears arguments on Obamacare, CNN's legal analyst has already come down against the conservative side as "really weak." Jeffrey Toobin gave the legal precedents for an individual health insurance mandate and insinuated that it was constitutional on Monday's Starting Point. Toobin said, regarding those who believe Congress does not have the power to force people to buy health insurance, "basically that is a really weak argument, in that the United States Congress has been regulating health care for years, has been involved in this market for years, and this is a perfectly ordinary use... continue reading
On Monday's CBS This Morning, Charlie Rose accused GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum of focusing too much on foreign policy and social issues, instead of the economy: " You talk about President Obama being an appeaser. You talk about [Obama] being soft on pornography and those kinds of things, rather than the bread and butter economic issues that you say are essential to who will win ." Earlier in the interview, Rose hinted at the left-leaning talking point that the Republican Party was waging a "war on women." He asked the former Pennsylvania senator, " Do you believe that there... continue reading

Appearing on Sunday's NBC Meet the Press, Washington Post associate editor Bob Wood ward mounted his high horse in condemning the role of Super-PACs in the 2012 race: "...under the Supreme Court decision all of the new 21st century robber barons, let's call them what they are, can put tens of millions of dollars into the campaign. It's negative, it's poison, it's venom..." Woodward then laughably told viewers who would protect them from the villains: "...we – NBC, The New York Times, Washington Post, the people in the media...we're going to be tested to say can we present a clear-eyed... continue reading
On the March 19 edition of Morning Joe , MSNBC's Joe Scarborough and co-host Mika Brzezinski repeatedly hectored Rick Santorum on the issue of contraception. While interviewing Arizona Senator John McCain on Sunday's Meet the Press, host David Gregory took a line from the Democratic script as he wondered: "Are you concerned at all to see a focus with certain elements of the Republican Party on social issues?... Another example of how out of touch the Washington press corps are with what is common knowledge amongst conservatives. On Face the Nation , host Bob Schieffer was flummoxed by Mitt Romney’s contention that Obama officials desire high gas prices: Mitt Romney said...that the President actually wanted gas prices to go up when he was running for President. He also said the President should fire his three top energy people because they were trying to get the price up. What’s that about? Guest David Axelrod of the Obama campaign assured Schieffer: “Well, I think it’s about nonsense is what it's... continue reading

I hear a language of English as the language of imperialism and global dominance," Lamont Hill said. The panel was discussing Santorum's remarks that Puerto Rico would have to speak English in addition to Spanish to earn statehood, and Mitt Romney's reply that English is "the language of opportunity" and that proficiency should be encouraged there.
