On Wednesday's NBC Today, chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd was looking for any excuse to be an Obama spokesman as made this declaration about the announced retirement of Maine Senator Olympia Snowe: "...she's serving as a personal testimonial to the President, who says there's no more centrist coalition inside the Republican Party." [ Listen to the audio ] On Tuesday, ABC World News anchor Diane Sawyer praised the liberal GOP legislator as, "The principled voice of reason in some of the most contentious debates in Washington..." and noted how fellow Maine Senator and Republican moderate Susan Collins was "absolutely... continue reading

Former Newsweek senior editor Howard Fineman on Tuesday slammed Rick Santorum as regressive, sneering, " Well, I think Rick Santorum is posing a more fundamental challenge to the modern world." Fineman made his mocking comment while talking to Hardball 's Chris Matthews. The liberal anchor wondered who liberals should "fear" more, "Romney's elitist attitude towards the economy, where he looks at everything from the top, economically? Or Santorum's, sort of, gut sense that his religion should trump the Constitution if necessary?" [MP3 audio here .] Fineman did concede that Santorum "could" win the presidency, adding, "If you get in the... continue reading
In light of Monday's deadly school shooting in Ohio, both CNN host Piers Morgan and liberal comedian Bill Maher embarked on a lengthy liberal screed against the current gun laws in America. Maher went so far as to castigate gun owners for making their ownership a "theology," on Monday night's Piers Morgan Tonight. "And Rick Santorum likes to talk about theology. This is a theology in this country. Guns are a religion. They're next to godliness for a lot of people," he ranted. Host Piers Morgan found America's gun laws "incomprehensible" and balked at the "ideological dream" of the right... continue reading
In an interview with Newt Gingrich on Tuesday's NBC Today, co-host Matt Lauer hoped to get the former speaker to denounce recent comments by Rick Santorum about higher education: "Santorum said, 'President Obama once said he wants everybody in America to go to college, what a snob.' As a former college professor, how did you feel about that exchange?" Despite Lauer's attempt to appeal to his academic background, Gingrich refused to take the bait: "You know, you have to ask Santorum why he said that. I do think every American ought to get trained. I think it doesn't matter what... continue reading
A panel packed with liberal pundits on Tuesday's NBC Today concluded that Mitt Romney "cannot relate to average people" because he is "just an awkward human being" and "robot" who is "not likable" due to his wealth "mixed with arrogance without empathy" that gives him "the image of a robber baron." [ Listen to the audio ] As if that DNC-approved analysis wasn't biased enough, advertising executive Donny Deutsch declared Romney's candidacy to be dead on arrival: "He's not likable and he's not real. Far left comedian Bill Maher appeared on Monday's Hardball to smear Rick Santorum, inisisting that, unlike John F. Kennedy, the Republican is saying, " Yes, I will take my marching orders from the Pope !" The smug comic delighted Matthews, who eagerly agreed, "Ha! Exactly! That's what he's saying!" Earlier in the show, the MSNBC anchor, yet again, slammed Santorum as a "theocrat." Matthews poured praised on Maher, touting, "You're the best. You're the funniest, smartest guy around." Charlie Rose seemingly can't handle a Republican attacking President Obama, as he interrupted Haley Barbour on Monday's CBS This Morning. Obama " [audio available here ]. Just over a month earlier, Rose took issue with Senator Marco Rubio accusing the chief executive of being "divisive." Reporting on violent protests in Afghanistan following accidental Quran burnings for Monday's NBC Today, correspondent Atia Abawi declared the incident "...follows a long line of insults that has intensified the public outrage towards the U.S. , including last year's intentional burning of a Koran by a pastor in Florida and the video of U.S. Marines urinating on the corpses of Taliban fighters." [ Listen to the audio ] Compare that declaration to how Abawi portrayed Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai as the peace-keeper amid the crisis: "Karzai once again tried to diffuse the anger, saying, 'Our emotions were shown all over... continue reading
CNN's Don Lemon launched a heavy defense of President Obama's apology for the Koran burnings in Afghanistan, in lieu of criticism Obama has received from GOP presidential candidates. In his Sunday night segment entitled "No Talking Points," Lemon ironically threw Democratic talking points at the Republicans. Lemon claimed neutrality over Obama's apology before offering all the reasons why it is not the scandal Republicans are claiming it to be. Lemon quoted Presidents Bush, Clinton, and Reagan apologizing for the slave trade, the Abu Gharib prison scandal, and the internment of Japanese-American citizens during World War II. "Not up to me... continue reading
